Our boys are bright and capable adolescents who are underachieving at home and at school. They have come to UCanachieve burdened by years of academic failure and emotional pain. These young men have experienced an overwhelming feeling of helplessness and frustration at home, at school and in life. At UCanachieve, we recognize that every one of our boys is part of a family system that is also suffering. Our treatment approach brings nurturing healing and support to the whole family.
UCanachieve works with the “whole child”
In today’s technical world, people are often categorized by diagnoses and labels. At UCanachieve, we are committed to approaching each student as a complete human being and treating him with the dignity he needs and deserves. We use medical, psychological and educational diagnoses to the extent that they help the student identify areas of his self that need improvement. However, we are careful never to identify your child with any label.
The following is a list of some of the issues that the UCanachieve student may struggle with:
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
- Asperger’s Syndrome
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Learning Disabilities/Non-verbal Learning Disabilities
- Addictions (computer or chemicals)
- Oppositional Defiant Disorder
- Conduct Disorder
- Anxiety Disorder
- Adoption/Attachment Issues
- Low Self-Esteem
- Low Motivation
- Poor Peer Relationships
- Identity Issues
- Family Adjustment Issues
